Huelva is excited with the first appearance of Onuba, the World Championships mascot

Onuba is already in Huelva. The mascot of the Huelva 2021 Badminton World Championships, which starts in November 29, was presented to the world at the Huelva City Hall.
Onuba, a Bengal tigress choosed as a tribute to the origins of this sport and whose name makes a nod to the history of Huelva was received in by the local organizing committee of the World Championships and many representatives of the different clubs of Huelva and the ‘Badminton without barriers’ sportsmen’s training center.

The event was chaired by the mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz, the president of the Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA), Andoni Azurmendi, the president of the Andalusian Badminton Federation, Juan Carlos Longo, and the territorial delegate of education and sport of the Junta de Andalucía, María Estela Villalba. Two representatives of the UHU also participated in the event.

Onuba arrived at the event in the town hall accompanied by several of the volunteers of the Huelva 2021 World Championship and starred in a beautiful day full of badminton, with the different promotional activities arranged by the organizing committee of the World Championships.
